I-ELCAP (International Early Lung Cancer Action Program)

LungAlert™ is part of a major international study on lung cancer screening, taking place at more than 20 sites around the world. LungAlert™ is integrated into a substudy of I-ELCAP at the lead Canadian site, Princess Margaret Hospital/University Health Network in Toronto, Ontario.

One thousand high-risk patients will undergo low-dose computed tomography (CT scan) twice — once at baseline and once at one-year follow-up. Patients will also be tested with LungAlert™ at these times. Data from the study will help determine the ability of LungAlert™ to detect cancers among a high-risk population, and will also provide data on the relationship between LungAlert™ values and the stage and location of cancer.
